Counting down!

Well, we sure are getting to the count down of November! The month has gone by quickly for me! I'm happy to announce that I FINALLY made it to the 160's this week! Hooray! I still don't have a huge loss for the month, but I really really wanted to get to the 160's so I am very pleased with that!

I hope everyone keeps at it and continues toward their goals. It saddens me to see so many of our original group stop putting forth the effort needed to reach their goals. You CAN do it! Keep at it and just do it! I KNOW you'll be SO glad in the end! No one can reach your goals for you...YOU are the only thing standing in the way! Keep up the good work!!! Good luck ladies on the last week of the competition this month!

update

The last week has been pretty crazy! We had family in town, then left for a long weekend in Utah for my brother-in-law's wedding. I felt really good about the weekend and the choices I made. I really splurged at the reception, but I thought about each bite and knew I would enjoy it, then work hard this week to make up for it!

I'm still hoping to make it to 165 for my Dec. 1st weigh in. It is getting so close though! Ahh! Honestly if I'm just in the 160s I'd be so happy. I hope everyone else is doing well this month. I can't believe we only have a little while longer 'til the next weigh in! Ahhh!!!

Here's to a GREAT week!!!

10K and Half Marathon

On Saturday I got to run a 10K. What made the day even better was that my awesome sis-in-law Kari was here too! She trained hard and ran the half marathon!!! She is incredible! I've run a half before, but in no where near the time she did! Great job Kari! I ran the 10K in 61 minutes. It was a good, but hard run.

I love how each of us can inspire one another. I am incredibly inspired by each of you, especially Karilynn. But I love how good it feels to lose weight and feel great - for me! I do it for me. That way I'm the only one getting credit for all the hard work and awesome results!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!!

weight and shape

One one hand I'm really happy. On the other I know I still have a ton of work to do.

As of the weigh in on Nov. 1st I weigh what I did when I got pregnant. I also reached a 25 pound total loss since after Luke was born. (That doesn't count what I lost giving birth and the after-birth stuff.)

As cool as that is...my SHAPE is NOT what it was when I got pregnant! So here are my goals for November.

I will lose the 8 remaining pounds to my original goal.

I will still run but focus (more than usual) on strength training.

With that strength training I will do a lot of core and ab training.

Here's to changing my shape!!! Good luck everyone!

Vacation

Hello everyone. For the last week we've been on a family vacation visiting my brother and his family. It has been so fun! I haven't blown the diet...but I haven't been strict either. I've allowed myself to enjoy moments of indulgence and then tried to make up for it other times with strict abstinence. It's been interesting! I have NO idea what my weigh in will be like this weekend, but whatever it is...it is.

It's been pointed out before that when you live healthy it is going to have to last that long - a lifetime. During our lifetime there will be vacations, holidays, birthdays, etc. During those events we'll all need the discipline to stay within limits. I've never maintained a certain weight for a long time, but I imagine when I do begin that journey it will be somewhat different than being in a weightloss mode. You know what I mean? We'll have to allow ourselves time to enjoy life (during those events that are inevitable) and then come RIGHT back to being very healthy and active. You can't take a month to get back on track!!!

I've allowed myself some enjoyment in the food category while on this vacation, but not so much that it's blown everything I've worked hard to accomplish. I will not allow myself ANY time to pass before getting right back to the grind of weight loss once getting home!!! I loved the post Kari has linked to her last post. The one on HoliDAYS not HoliMONTHS. I loved it! I'm going to remember that throughout this holiday season.

Well. I'd better sign off. We are going out to dinner tonight, then flying back home in the morning. Good luck to everyone as we near the end of October!! Good luck on the weigh in everyone!!!

Ellura

Ellura,
I tried to comment on your blog, but my computer is being a puke. Sorry.

I wanted to say how proud I am of you. You are doing a GREAT job. Keep it up. I haven't had my TOM visit in over a year (had a baby you know!) so I can't even imagine putting up with it for almost a month! Good luck there!

I love reading everybody's blog and I know we are going to do a pretty good job in losing another whole person this month! Let's all keep up the good work! Let's do this ladies!!!

need to report

Ok. So I really need to post. I wanted to last night but needed to get to bed on time so I could be up early for a trip to Denver.

The last few weeks for me have been tough. I haven't seen the changes on the scale that I'd like to see - but I'm still holding strong in my healthy ways. My diet is steady and I'm working out regularly getting ready for my 10K. I'm so glad I have that to look forward to - it is what's getting me out of bed in the mornings to work my butt off!!!

There are a ton of events coming up in my life! A TON. This Wednesday I'm leaving on vacation and we'll be gone for a week. After that...there are a few more trips planned but they aren't until November.

Well. I've got to sign off. I need to start dinner. Hope everyone is doing well.
